“Women and Development” was founded in 2004 in Georgia by local activists for the protection of the rights of women, girls, children, and youth.

The establishment of the organization was driven by the alignment of the initiative group members’ views and areas of interest, the desire to leverage the opportunities of a non-governmental organization, and the founders’ extensive experience in defending the rights and promoting the development of women, girls, children, and youth.
